This is a clean release of a perviously released episode, there is no new content, only edits to suit a younger audience

In the intro, the Grimerican’s talk briefly about the newest NSA scandal. Check out Dan Carlin’s “Common Sense” podcast for a balanced view. The guys were recently on “The Nat and Marie Podcast”. Check out this great new web culture podcast!

Darren and Graham have a fascinating chat with Phil Metzger, Senior Research Physicist for NASA’s KSC Swamp Works. It’s hard to tell the difference between science fiction and science fact in this episode.

They talk about Phil’s NASA awards and how his positive attitude, teamwork and initiative enabled him to create his own lab “Swamp Works”. Phil mentions how they plan on mining space and the collaboration between all the leading edge space mining companies. It’s truly an inspiring tale about everything from inspiring young people to work hard in science, turning space matter into water for radiation shielding, or 3d printing of metal equipment converted directly from extra planetary soil.

How are we going to hunt down asteroids and lasso them into the moon’s orbit? Listen to Phil tell Grimerica how its’ going to be done. Find out what we think about UFO’s, the Fermi paradox, and robotic space mining competitions and much much more.

This Sunday, America’s war against vampire-kind will be reignited when the sixth season of True Blood premieres on HBO. While there’s no real evidence to prove the existence of vampires (unless you count that creepy photo of Nicolas Cage), murderers and other nefarious types have been blaming their evil deeds on bloodlust for more than 400 years. Here are eight examples.

An early adopter of the vampire defense was Countess Elizabeth Báthory, a member of the Hungarian royal family whose cruelty toward her female servants was said to have included drenching them in water and leaving them to freeze to death outside in the winter. But it wasn’t until 1609, following the murder of a young noblewoman which Báthory staged to look like a suicide, that she was made accountable for her crimes.

The argument started when George Edwards, who runs Loch Ness Cruises in Drumnadrochit, Scotland, criticised fellow members of the local Chamber of Commerce for treating the monster as “a myth”.
Tony Harmsworth, the former boss of the Loch Ness Centre, responded by accused him of “palming his customers off with fake photographs”.
The row is now threatening to split the local business community, 80 years after the first modern-day sighting of the monster put the loch on the map as a tourist destination.
In a letter to the chamber, Mr Edwards, criticised the overly scientific approach taken by the Loch Ness Centre. He says visitors come out of the exhibition feeling disappointed after being told that Nessie is “a myth”.
“Just about every time that Mr Shine appears in the media he talks about big fish and big waves,” Mr Edwards said. “I believe they are doing more harm than good in promoting Loch Ness tourism with their negative theories.

A lost medieval city that thrived on a mist-shrouded Cambodian mountain 1,200 years ago has been discovered by archaeologists using revolutionary airborne laser technology, a report said.

In what it called a world exclusive, the Sydney Morning Herald said the city, Mahendraparvata, included temples hidden by jungle for centuries, many of which have not been looted.

A journalist and photographer from the newspaper accompanied the “Indiana Jones-style” expedition, led by a French-born archaeologist, through landmine-strewn jungle in the Siem Reap region where Angkor Wat, the largest Hindi temple complex in the world, is located.

The expedition used an instrument called Lidar — light detection and ranging data — which was strapped to a helicopter that criss-crossed a mountain north of Angkor Wat for seven days, providing data that matched years of ground research by archaeologists.
